Cancer is a disease that can be curable if diagnosed early. It is one of the most feared pathologies nowadays, and it is very unfortunate when it occurs in children. However, in 2021 there was a reduction of up to 20% in the mortality of infants with cancer, according to the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).
This decrease is due to several reasons, for example, that society is more informed than years ago and the participation of organizations that show solidarity with pediatric patients, such as Banco de Tapitas A.C.
What is Banco de Tapitas A.C.?
It is a company that promotes health initiatives in Mexico and has been listed in the US since 2020 when it joined the Charities Aid Foundation of America (CAF). Its operations centers are located in Puebla, Jalisco, and Mexico City, where children and young people with cancer receive free food and lodging.
Young Mexicans and professionals from educational institutions such as UNAM, UVM, UAQ, Tecmilenio, Anahuac, and Tecnológico de Monterrey founded Banco de Tapitas A.C.
More and more people turn to recycle bottles and caps to earn additional income, but the latter can be used for the Banco de Capitas to support children with cancer.
The objective of this organization is to store, collect and recycle plastic lids, regardless of the container they come from, and allocate the money obtained to different support programs for cancer patients under 21 years of age.
The bank is utterly open to the general public. You have to locate allied establishments and put down the lids. Well-known brands drive the organization, for example, ADO, Hoteles City, Jafra, Viva Aerobús, and Volaris.
The organization registered the brand in 2015 through the ABRE office in collaboration with the government of the municipality of Querétaro.
